HCML, one of the UK’s leading professional rehabilitation providers, has won the Insurer Innovation of the Year Category at the Insurance Times Awards, for ‘Back-Up’; a service developed in conjunction with Aviva, to address neck and back problems for its private medical insurance customers.

HCML and Aviva were announced as the winners at the Insurance Times Awards ceremony in Birmingham on 4 December, making it the second accolade the service has won this year, having won a Rehabilitation First Award in June.

‘Back-Up’ delivers prompt, evidence based intervention to Aviva’s private medical insurance customers with neck and back problems. Customers referred to HCML gain access to a dedicated HCML Case Manager who provides advice, education and manages any required treatment to facilitate a speedy recovery for the customer, and at the same time helps control sickness absence and medical insurance claims costs.
