This Saturday, an ‘elite’ team from HCML will join forces with some of its wonderful clients, customers and partners to take on the Superhero Tri powered by Marvel at Dorney Lake in Windsor.
The team of 11 is taking on the mission to complete the Superhero Tri Full, with each member completing various stages as they swim, bike and push/run to make it to the finish line!
The Superhero Tri is just one event in the Superhero Series, which was founded by Paralympian Sophia Warner in 2016. The Superhero Series exists to give everyone the chance to be active and take part in a large-scale sporting event, no matter what your ability. The Superhero Tri is a unique event which sees ‘everyday superheroes’ and celebrity ‘superheroes’ take on an all-inclusive day of sporting activities.
More than 3,500 people with disabilities, their team members and various sporting and TV stars will be taking part in this year’s event.
HCML are proud to be a ‘corporate friend’ of the event. The HCML team includes rehabilitation case managers, exec team members, as well as solicitors, treatment providers and rehab clients.
Amputee clinical lead, Jason Chidwick said:
“I remember watching the event of television last year and was absolutely in awe of the participants and was incredibly humbled to see the achievements, especially considering most participants had a disability. Working with clients on a daily basis who have sustained amputations or have limb differences, alongside my background and personal interest in sport made me think about how we as a company can encourage sports participation further, and also raise the profile of inclusivity in sport. Therefore, I knew that I needed to be involved in this year’s Superhero Series, and the rest is history. I cannot wait to participate in the event and be involved in promoting inclusivity within sport, bring along some clients also. I cannot wait to see some of the superhero costumes also, a definite talking point also I imagine.”
A huge thank you to all those taking part for a great cause!
